Plantago heterophylla Nuttall. Common name: Slender Plantain, Many-seeded Plantain, Small Plantain. Phenology: Mar-May. Habitat: Fields, roadsides, disturbed areas. Distribution: Se. VA and MO south to Panhandle FL and TX; adventive at scattered sites farther north (at least as far north as NY).
ID notes: Superficially similar to Plantago pusilla.
