Habitat: Sandy, gravelly, or rocky areas, dunes, clay flats; eastwards adventive in disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of sc. North America: e., c. and w. Texas south to n. Mexico (Chihuahua, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Nuevo León), scattered eastwards as a waif.
