*Polygonum argyrocoleon Steudel ex Kunze. Common name: Silver-sheath Knotweed, Persian Knotweed. Phenology: May-Oct. Habitat: Disturbed areas, especially saline. Distribution: Native of w. Asia. Reported for NC by Burk (1961), with collection at NCU.

Origin/Endemic status: W. Asia

Synonymy : = Fl4, FNA5, K4, RAB, Tx, WH3, Horton (1972); = n/a — C. Basionym: Polygonum argyrocoleon Steud. ex Kunze 1847
