Quercus fusiformis Small. Common name: Plateau Oak, Plateau Live Oak, Encino. Habitat: Dry sands, rocky areas (often calcareous), scrub; also planted eastwards of its native distribution (as in AR), and sometimes weakly naturalizing near those plantings. Distribution: E. and s. OK south through TX to Mexico (COA, NLE, TAM, VER).
