Hab: Bottomland forests, especially in fertile soils of upper terraces where flooded only infrequently and for short periods, upland depression ponds, sometimes on moist lower slopes. Dist: NJ south to n. peninsular FL and west to e. TX and se. OK, north in the interior to s. IL and s. IN.
