*Quercus robur Linnaeus. Common name: English Oak. Habitat: Rarely cultivated in our area; sometimes persisting or escaping in ne. United States, south at least to s. PA (Rhoads & Klein 1993; Rhoads & Block 2007). Distribution: Native of Europe.

Taxonomy Comments: POWO (2024) recognizes 4 subspecies of Quercus robur; only ssp. robur is reported as introduced into North America.
