Rhipsalis baccifera (Solander) Stearn ssp. baccifera. Common name: Mistletoe Cactus, Pencil Cactus. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Coastal berms, tidal swamps. Distribution: S. FL; West Indies; Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Other subspecies occur in Central and South America and tropical Africa. Cota-Sánchez & M.C. Bomfim-Patrício (2010) discuss the biogeography and evolution of Rhipsalis baccifera and its occurrence in both the New World and Old World tropics.
