Schoenoplectiella smithii (A. Gray) Hayasaka var. leviseta (Fassett) Shiels & Monfils. Phenology: Jul; Late Jul-Aug. Habitat: Gravelly intertidal beaches. Distribution: QC west to MN, south to NJ, DE, ne. VA, PA, n. OH, and IL. Reported from mountains of sw. VA.
