*Senna alata (Linnaeus) Roxburgh. Common name: Emperor's Candlesticks, Candlestick Senna, Ringworm Senna. Phenology: Sep-Nov. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of tropical America. Planted and slightly naturalized from s. AL and FL west to OK and TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Synonymy : = FNA11.1, K4, NcTx, NS, POWO, SE3, WH3, Irwin & Barneby (1982), Isely (1998); = Cassia alata L. — Tx, Isely (1975). Basionym: Cassia alata L. 1753
