Vallisneria americana Michaux. Common name: Vallisneria, Water-celery, Tapegrass, Eelgrass. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Lakes, rivers, estuaries, sounds. Distribution: NS and QC west to ND, south to FL, TX, NM, AZ; south into tropical America {or is this all or partly V. neotropicalis?}.
