Xanthium chinense P. Miller. Cocklebur. Phen: Aug-Oct. Hab: Barnyards, pastures, bottomlands, other disturbed areas. Dist: Widespread in e. North America, and now nearly cosmopolitan; its original distribution uncertain. Despite the name, this species is likely native to e. North America.
