not marked as a favorite taxon *Hippeastrum Herbert. Common name: Amaryllis.

A genus of about 60 species, perennial herbs, of tropical America. Christenhusz, Fay, & Byng (2018) proposed to treat Hippeastrum very broadly, a course not followed here.
