*Cyrtomium C. Presl. Subfamily: Dryopteridoideae. Common name: Net-veined Holly Fern.
A genus of about 35 species, of temperate regions of Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Islands. Cyrtomium is closely related to Polystichum, with some recent molecular studies suggesting that they are reciprocally paraphyletic. They may be combined, or, alternatively, split into smaller genera (Li, Lu, & Barrington 2008). Both species in our flora are apogamous triploids.
