Cartrema Rafinesque. Wild Olive, Devilwood.

Key to Cartrema

A genus of 2 species, trees, of e. North America. The phylogenetic analyses of Dong et al. (2022) reiterated and strongly supported the status of Cartrema as a genus separate from Osmanthus. Note also that several Asian species that have sometimes been included in Cartrema are not closely related to Cartrema and are better placed in Chengiodendron (Li et al. 2020).
