Trientalis Linnaeus. Common name: Starflower.

A genus of about 3 species (sometimes with additional taxa recognized), a perennial herb, of boreal and north temperate areas of North America and Eurasia. Following Manns & Anderberg (2007), Trientalis has often been submerged in a very broad Lysimachia. More detailed and recent work (Yan et al. 2018), show Trientalis and Steironema in a well-supported clade basal to a Centunculus clade, an Anagallis clade, and a still-broad Lysimachia. We prefer to revert to the traditional recognition of Trientalis as well-supported morphologically and phylogenetically.
