Hasteola

not marked as a favorite taxon Hasteola suaveolens (Linnaeus) Pojarkova. Common name: Sweet Indian-plantain. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Sandy bottomlands, low rich forests, and riverbanks. Distribution: Massachusetts, New York, n. Ohio, n. Indiana, c. Wisconsin and se. Minnesota, south to n. Virginia, sw. Virginia, sw. North Carolina, wc. Tennessee (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997), and se. Missouri; apparently rare through much of its range.
