Neltuma glandulosa (Torrey) Britton & Rose var. glandulosa . Common name: Honey Mesquite. Phenology: Late Apr-May (-Sep). Habitat: Westwards in prairies, pastures, roadsides, eastwards in disturbed areas. Distribution: S. KS and s. CO south to n. LA, TX, NM, and Mexico.

Taxonomy Comments: Hughes et al. (2022a) treated the western relative of Neltuma glandulosa at species rank: Neltuma odorata (Torrey & Fremont) J.E. Hughes & G.P. Lewis. This entity has usually been regarded as a variety of Neltuma glandulosa -- as Prosopis glandulosa var. torreyana (L. Benson) M.C. Johnston.
