Habitat: Swamps, marshes, especially over calcareous substrates, such as limestone or calcareous shale. Distribution: Maine and s. Québec west to Manitoba, south to Virginia, s. Tennessee (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997), Arkansas, Texas, and Colorado; disjunct in Texas, New Mexico, and Utah.
