Crataegus viridis Linnaeus var. glabriuscula (Sargent) J.B. Phipps. Common name: Texas Green Hawthorn. Phenology: Late Mar-late Apr; Sep-Nov. Habitat: Alluvial woodlands, streamsides, prairies, usually where soils are basic or calcareous. Distribution: E. TX n. to s. OK, e. AR.

ID notes: This variety differs from other varieties of C. viridis in its large-toothed leaves that generally lack hair fascicles in the proximal vein axils of leaf undersides.
