*Cucumis melo Linnaeus var. cantalupo Seringe. Common name: Canteloupe, Muskmelon. Phenology: May-Oct. Habitat: Gardens, fields, trash heaps, commonly cultivated in home gardens and commercially, sometimes volunteering from seed the following year. Distribution: Native of Asia.
