Dichanthelium acuminatum (Swartz) Gould & C.A. Clark var. lindheimeri (Nash) Gould & C.A. Clark. Common name: Lindheimer's Witchgrass. Phenology: May-Sep. Habitat: Open or cut-over woods, thickets, fields, meadows, and shores, often on wet soils. Distribution: NS west to MB, south to FL and MO, west to s. CA.

ID notes: Internodes as well as sheaths often nearly glabrous. Panicle axis sometimes sparsely pilose at branch nodes, but otherwise glabrous.
