Evolvulus sericeus Swartz var. averyi D.B. Ward. Common name: Avery's Dwarf Morning-glory, Silver Dwarf Morning-glory. Phenology: Apr-Oct. Habitat: Pine rocklands. Distribution: S. peninsular FL (Monroe and Miami-Dade counties).
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: We agree with Ward (1968) in recognizing this as distinct in the E. sericeus complex (with E. macilentus) in the rocklands of s. FL. Specimens with corresponding morphology were cited only for s. FL by Ooststroom (1934) but it should be sought in other regions.
