Ulmus americana Linnaeus var. floridana (Chapman) Little. Subgenus: Oreoptelea. Section: Blepharocarpus. Common name: Florida Elm. Phenology: Jan-Mar; Feb-Apr. Habitat: Shell middens, other calcareous forests. Distribution: Se. NC (north at least to Carteret County) south to c. peninsular FL, west to Panhandle FL and s. AL (H. Horne, pers. comm., 2013).

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Synonymy : = Kurz & Godfrey (1962); = Ulmus floridana Chapm. — S, S13; < Ulmus americana L. — C, F, FNA3, G, GW2, K4, NS, POWO, RAB, W, WH3. Basionym: Ulmus floridana Chapm. 1860
