Vaccinium stamineum Linnaeus var. sericeum (C. Mohr) D.B. Ward. Common name: Southern Deerberry. Phenology: Apr-Jun; Aug-Oct. Habitat: Xeric woodlands. Distribution: S. SC, w. NC, TN, and AR south to Panhandle FL and TX; disjunct in Mexico (GTO, SLP, and allegedly ROO) (Villaseñor 2016).
