Platanaceae T. Lestiboudois. Common name: Plane-tree Family.
A family of a single genus and about 7 species (and several additional infrataxa), trees, of North America south to Central America and w. Asia to se. Asia. Probably with a close relationship to the Proteaceae (Angiosperm Phylogeny Group 2009), and sometimes included there (Angiosperm Phylogeny Group 1998, 2003).
