Potamogetonaceae Berchtold & J. Presl. Common name: Pondweed Family.
A family of 6-7 genera and about 100 species (if circumscribed, as here, to include Zannichelliaceae), aquatic herbs, nearly cosmopolitan. Here circumscribed following molecular studies to include Zannichellia (Lindqvist et al. 2006; Angiosperm Phylogeny Group 2003, 2009).
