Asaraceae

not marked as a favorite taxon Asaraceae Ventenat. Common name: Wild Ginger Family.

Key to Asaraceae

A family of 1-7 genera, and about 150 species, of temperate e. Asia and e. North America. Generic circumscription is controversial and uncertain, with some preferring to accept a broad single genus Asarum, while others prefer to recognize 2-7 monophyletic genera to classify diversity. Not all nomenclatural combinations are available for some of the potential multi-generic schemes.
