Cochlospermaceae

A family of 2 genera and about 16 species, herbs, shrubs, and trees, of sc. and sw. United States, Mexico, Central America, South America, Asia, Africa, and Australia. The Cochlospermaceae has been supported as a family separate from Bixaceae (Johnson-Fulton & Watson 2015), or alternatively combined into Bixaceae (Colli-Silva et al. 2025).
