not marked as a favorite taxon Cliftonia monophylla (Lamarck) Britton ex Sargent. Common name: Black Titi, Buckwheat-tree. Phenology: Late Feb-May. Habitat: Acid bogs, bayheads, swamps, and streambanks. Distribution: Se. South Carolina south to n. Florida, west to se. Louisiana.
