Clusia rosea Jacquin. Common name: Pitch-apple, Balsam-apple, Autograph-tree. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Maritime hammocks, rockland hammocks, coastal berms, disturbed areas, also widely cultivated. Distribution: S. FL; West Indies; Mexico (CAM, CHP, GRO, MIC, ROO, VER) south through Central America to South America. Extirpated as a native, but now rare to uncommon as escapees in urban areas.
