Oncidium ensatum Lindley. Phenology: Apr-Sep. Habitat: Epiphytic or terrestrial, in tropical hammocks, buttonwood woodlands, mangroves, and swamps. Distribution: C. and s. FL; West Indies; possibly also in Mexico, Central America, and the Old World tropics, depending on the very uncertain circumscription of the species.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: O. floridanum (restricted to s. FL and the Bahamas) is sometimes separated based on subtle floral differences.
