Although listed by Radford, Ahles, & Bell (1968) for the Carolinas as "a weed in and around greenhouses, not established as part of our flora", this species is well-established and weedy in Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. Native at least in FL, and perhaps further north, the original distribution unclear.
