Simarouba glauca A.P. de Candolle var. latifolia Cronquist. Common name: Paradise Tree, Bitterwood. Phenology: Feb-May. Habitat: Hammocks. Distribution: FL peninsula; West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica); Central America.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Var. glauca is apparently more restricted in distribution (mainly in Cuba) than var. latifolia. Var. glauca has leaflets mostly > 3× as long as wide, while var. latifolia has leaflets mostly < 3× as long as wide.
