not marked as a favorite taxon *Sorbaria sorbifolia (Linnaeus) A. Braun. Common name: False Spiraea. Phenology: Jun-Jul. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Asia. Cultivated and naturalized at least as far south as s. Pennsylvania (Rhoads & Klein 1993; Rhoads & Block 2007), Maryland, and West Virginia; reports for Virginia (Massey 1961, repeated in Kartesz 1999) are apparently based only on cultivated plants.
