*Cabanisia paniculata (Sprengel) A. Haines. Common name: Brazilian Water-hyacinth. Habitat: Drainage ditches; apparently only a waif. Distribution: Native of tropical America, not collected in our region since 1907 (Horn in FNA 2002a; Small 1933).

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Synonymy : = Haines (2020b); = Eichhornia paniculata (Spreng.) Solms — FNA26, Meso6, NS, WH3, WI; = Piaropus paniculatus (Spreng.) Small — S; = Pontederia paniculata Spreng. — K4, POWO, Pellegrini, Horn, & Almeida (2018). Basionym: Pontederia paniculata Spreng. 1822
