Strombocarpa cinerascens A. Gray. Common name: Tornillo, Screwbean. Phenology: Apr-Oct. Habitat: Beaches, dunes, thornscrub. Distribution: S. and e. TX south into ne. Mexico (NLE, SLP, TAM).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Sometimes considered only varietally distinct from S. reptans (Bentham) A. Gray, native of Argentina.
