*Alysicarpus ovalifolius (Schumacher) J. Léonard. Common name: Alyce Clover. Phenology: Sep-Nov. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of the Old World Tropics, planted as a forage crop (at least formerly), and rarely naturalized. The VA occurrence is from chrome ore piles in Newport News and presumably a waif. Present in the SC Coastal Plain (Bradley et al. [in prep.]).

Origin/Endemic status: Paleotropics

Synonymy : = Fl3, FNA11.1, K4, NS, POWO, WH3, Woods & Diamond (2016); Hedysarum ovalifolium Schumach. = n/a — C, RAB; < Alysicarpus vaginalis (L.) DC. — Ar, SE3, Isely (1998). Basionym: Hedysarum ovalifolium Schumach. 1827
