Carex elliottii Schweinitz & Torrey. Common name: Elliott’s Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Bogs. Distribution: E. NC south to c. pen. FL and west to s. AL.

ID notes: Carex elliottii can be distinguished by its cespitose habitat (rhizomes lacking or short) compared to C. louisianica and C. bullata which are long rhizomatous.
