not marked as a favorite taxon Carex lupuliformis Sartwell ex Dewey. Common name: Umbo Sedge, False Hop Sedge. Phenology: Jun-Jul. Habitat: Wet forests, floodplain pools, blackwater, tidal, and brownwater swamps, riverbanks, especially in or around seasonal ponded areas, maybe especially associated with alkaline areas. Distribution: Vermont and Québec west to se. Wisconsin, south to s. Florida and e. Texas.
