Carex pigra Naczi. Section: [26ee] Section 22 Griseae. Common name: Lazy Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Moist forests, bottomlands. Distribution: Se. VA west to se. and sc. TN, south to n. FL, s. AL, and ne. MS.
ID notes: Similar to Carex flaccosperma but differing in the slightly smaller perigynia, achenes more nearly filling the perigynium, and the bent achene beak.
