Chasmanthium ornithorhynchum Nees. Common name: Birdbill Spikegrass. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Blackwater swamp forests. Distribution: S. AL and w. FL Panhandle west to e. LA (Florida Parishes). Also reported for NC and SC (FNA 2003a; Kartesz 2020), apparently in error, as no evidence has been found to support a distribution in the Carolinas.
