*Clitoria ternatea Linnaeus. Blue-pea, Conchitas, Zapatico de la Reina. Phen: Mar-Nov (-Feb). Hab: Disturbed areas. Dist: Native of the Paleotropics. Weakly naturalized in s. GA (Isely 1998) and FL.
Origin/Endemic status: Paleotropics
Taxonomy Comments: A form of garden or accidental origin has radially symmetrical flowers, the 5 petals each banner-like, and the stamens distinct or in bundles of 2-5; it is sometimes accorded varietal rank as var. pleniflora Fantz, but we regard it as best considered a form.
