Eleocharis minima Kunth. Common name: Small Spikerush. Phenology: Apr-Oct. Habitat: Pond margins, lakeshores, shallow water, wet depressions. Distribution: GA and FL west to TX; West Indies, Mexico, Central America, South America.
ID notes: This species is easily confused with E. baldwinii, among other spikerushes (see key, drawn from Smith et al. 2002). Specimens lacking annotation should be examined.
