not marked as a favorite taxon Euphorbia ophthalmica Persoon. Common name: Florida Hammock Sandmat. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Roadsides, flowerbeds, other disturbed areas, hammocks. Distribution: Georgia and Pennsylvania (Kartesz 1999), widespread in Florida (Wunderlin & Hansen), but not in North America according to Govaerts, Frodin, & Radcliffe-Smith (2000). Widespread in Mexico. See Barger et al. (2012) for discussion of Alabama occurrences.
