*Gisekia pharnacioides Linnaeus. Common name: Oldmaid. Habitat: Fields, orchards, other disturbed areas, in dry, sandy, disturbed soils. Distribution: Native of tropical Asia and Africa.
ID notes: Somewhat reminiscent of various herbs in the Rubiaceae with its opposite or (nearly) whorled leaves; distinguished by its lack of interpetiolar stipule and superior ovary.
