*Hymenachne amplexicaulis (Rudge) Nees. Common name: Trompetilla. Phenology: Sep-Dec. Habitat: Disturbed wet ground, strand swamps, cypress domes, marshes, lakes. Distribution: Native from Mexico south to South America. Its additional discovery in w. LA (Urbatsch & Saichuk 2014) suggests this plant may be present in additional locations along the Gulf Coast.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Synonymy : = FlGr, FNA25, K4, Meso6, WH3; Panicum amplexicaule Rudge. Basionym: Panicum amplexicaule Rudge 1805
