Ionopsis utricularioides (Swartz) Lindley. Common name: Delicate Ionopsis, Delicate Violet Orchid, Dancing Ladies, Angelitos. Phenology: (Dec-) Mar-Apr. Habitat: Epiphytic on small branches and twigs of trees (especially Salix caroliniana) in cypress swamps and on Annona glabra in sloughs. Distribution: S. FL; West Indies; Mexico, Central America and South America.
ID notes: The pink-purple flowers with distinct 2-lobed labellum makes this species a conspicuous spring-bloomer in s. FL.
