Iris fulva Ker Gawler. Common name: Red Flag, Copper Iris. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Swamp forests, wet hammocks, usually in shallow water. This species has become somewhat popular as a native wildflower in cultivation. Distribution: S. IL, MO, and w. TN south to w. Panhandle FL, AL, and LA (introduced elsewhere).
