Iva microcephala Nuttall. Common name: Small-headed Marsh-elder. Phenology: Sep-Oct. Habitat: Wet pine flatwoods, flatwood ponds, clay-based Carolina bays, Florida wet prairies, marshes. Distribution: Sc. NC south to s. FL, west to se. AL.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: A seed-banking annual, locally abundant some years and absent in others, depending on the variable hydrologic conditions of Carolina bays and other seasonally flooded wetlands.

Synonymy : = Fl7, FNA21, GW2, K4, RAB, S, SE1, WH3, Jackson (1960). Basionym: Iva microcephala Nutt. 1840
