Juncus

not marked as a favorite taxon Juncus diffusissimus Buckley. Common name: Diffuse Rush, Slim-pod Rush. Phenology: May-Sep. Habitat: Low, wet open areas, ditches, margins of ponds and streams. Distribution: Originally distributed from Kentucky, s. Indiana, s. Illinois, Missouri and Kansas south to s. Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, the more eastern part of the distribution apparently adventive (Lamont & Young 2005).

Glossary (beta!)

Subgenus: Juncus. Section: Ozophyllum.

ID notes: Similar to J. debilis, but with capsules being much longer than the tepals, and inflorescence much more open and branched.
